Where did it all begin?

“Corona Virus: Origin:

Currently, there is a vacuum of knowledge about the origins of the new arisen virus COVID-19. Coronaviruses are a group of viruses that can affect both humans and animals. The first known illness caused by coronavirus, emerged with the 2003 severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). A second known outbreak began in Saudi Arabia with Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS). The first transmission to humans was in Wuhan, China. On December 31 of 2019, Chinese authorities from Wuhan, China alerted the World Health Organisation (WHO) of a novel coronavirus strain – SARS-CoV-2.

Based on several genomic analyses researchers came to the conclusion that it is possible that the virus could have evolved to its current pathogenic state through a natural selection in a non-humans host and then infected humans. The researchers propose that the first transmission may be due to bats, though there is no evidence of direct bats- human transmission. If the above scenario is true, it risks the possibility of future outbreaks, since the illness-causing strain could be circulating among animals and could jump to humans anytime. “
