Pregnancy and COVID-19

There is not enough evidence to suggest whether the virus is transmitted from a mother to her fetus or the impact this may have on the baby. Pregnant women should seek appropriate medical care during pregnancy if any symptoms of COVID-19 are observed. Breastfeeding mothers should seek medical advice. The mother can continue breastfeeding using the necessary precautions only if medically advised (considering the insignificant role of breastmilk in the transmission of other respiratory viruses)
